Protect your phone
Every month over 10,000 mobile phones are stolen (according to the MET Police) in the UK alone – Nearly all street crime involves a phone theft. What can I do to help protect myself?
- Always use your phone's PIN lock. This way a thief will not be able to make calls once the handset has been turned off or SIM card has been removed.
- When using your phone, be aware of your surroundings and the people around you.
- Keep your phone with you and out of sight at all times.
- Never leave your phone on view in the car.
Sadly, if a criminal wants your phone they're probably going to get it - if your phone is lost or stolen contact the police and your operator immediately.
Txt2Lock is by far the most effective way to protect your phone once it's been stolen. You can instantly bar all outgoing calls and texts as well as encrypt the contents of your messages, pictures and contacts.
